Abstract

In this volunteer study of an induced adenovirus type 3 infection, fluorescent antibody staining, and the examination of conjunctival cytology by Giemsa and Papan'colaou stains were not diagnostically useful. Virus isolations and antibody rises were the only suitable laboratory indications of infection.
