Abstract

Abstract: : Purpose: To evaluate the reproducibility of the nerve fiberlayer (NFL) thickness, macula thickness map and optic nervehead (ONH) parameters generated by the OCT 3 (Optical CoherenceTomography 3, software version A1, Carl Zeiss Meditec Inc.,Dublin, CA).Methods: Normal subjects were imaged 6 times (3before and 3 after dilation) per day on each of 3 separate days.The scan type order (NFL, macula, and ONH) was randomized foreach session and subject. We used variance components analysiswith random effects mixed models to determine intraclass correlationcoefficients (ICCs), inter-visit, intra-visit and standard deviations(SDs) as measures of reproducibility and to study the effectof dilation on retinal, NFL and ONH parameters.Results: 10eyes of 10 normal subjects were enrolled (mean age 30.1 ±7.6 years). SDs of 3 different scan types are summarized inTable 1 and ICCs in Table 2.
