T1 Macular Edema Following Plaque Radiotherapy of Uveal Melanoma: A Proposed OCT-Based Grading System JF Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science JO Invest. Ophthalmol. Vis. Sci. YR 2008 VO 49 IS 13 SP 48 OP 48 SN 1552-5783 AB To assess the relaibility and validity of an optical coherence tomography (OCT) based grading scale for macular edema following plaque radiotherapy of uveal melanoma. An inter-rater reliability study of a proposed five point grading scale was conducted. Assessment of the correlation between the grading scale, foveal thickness and visual acuity measurements in 139 eligible patients with a diagnosis of radiation-induced macular oedema was then undertaken. The grading scale was highly reliable (kappa=0.91, z = 32.96, p=0.000). The grading scale also correlated with foveal thickness (Spearman’s correlation coefficient [rho] =0.56, p<0.0001) and visual acuity (rho =0.39, p<0.0001). This pilot study suggests that OCT-based methods are feasible in the grading of macular edema following plaque radiatiotherapy of uveal melanoma. RD 4/12/2021
