YR 2008 VO 49 IS 13 SP 976 OP 976 SN 1552-5783 AB Evaluate the incidence, presentation, and outcome of patients presenting with endophthalmitis post intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF drugs Retrospective review of charts of patients undergoing intravitreal anti-VEGF injections between December 1, 2004 and November 30, 2007. Between December 1, 2004 and November 30, 2007, 1,303 Macugen injections were administered; one eye developed endophthalmitis. Between July 1, 2006 and November 30, 2007, 3,057 Lucentis injections were given; five eyes developed endophthalmitis. All patients were seen post-injection within the first 7 days after injection. Of the six patients developing endophthalmitis,three were asymptomatic and were diagnosed as a result of the scheduled followup. Early detection may of endophthalmitis may be facilitated by scheduled followup examination. RD 3/2/2021
