T1 Visual Acuity and Geometric Patterns Analysis Using Visante OCT for Intralase â" Enabled Keratoplasty JF Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science JO Invest. Ophthalmol. Vis. Sci. YR 2008 VO 49 IS 13 SP 1952 OP 1952 SN 1552-5783 AB To evaluate the best corrected visual acuity, the manifest refraction and the wound healing results after Intralase â€" Enabled keratoplasty (IEK). Manifest refractions and best corrected visual acuity(Logmar) were prospectively measured in patients with keratoconus before and at 1, 2, 3 and 4 months after IEK. Geometric patterns and wound healing after surgery was evaluated using Visante OCT. 21 consecutive eyes were evaluated. Pre-operative best corrected visual acuity averaged was 0.17 (range = 0.05 to 0.3). Post- operative best corrected visual acuity averaged at 1 month was 0.265 (range = 0.2 to 0.5), at 2 months 0.245 (range = 0.2 to 0.5), at 3 months 0.21 (range = 0.2 to 0.5), at 4 months 0.18 (range = 0.1 to 0.4).90.4% of patients were 0.3 or better 3 months post-operative. One patient with 4 months after IEK reported a best corrected visual acuity of 1.0.Average spherical refraction was â€" 1.467 (range = - 5.25 to 3.00) and negative cylinder was -2.33(range = -0.5 to -6.00).The Visante OCT showed the geometric patterns, good wound healing and reproducible dimensions of the cuts made in donor and host tissue.
