Abstract

Single units recorded in the region of the nucleus of the transpeduncular tract in alert Macaques showed movement sensitivity with features markedly different than those of retinal ganglion cells. The units responded during pursuit eye movement in the direction for which target movement activated them. They were not affected by saccadic eye movements or by other sensory or motor inputs.
