Abstract
The simultaneous accumulation of iodopyracet labeled with 131I and of 125I by ciliary body-iris preparations from albino and pigmented rabbits was studied in vitro. The ciliary processes were separated from the iris and the uptake of iodopyracet and iodide was shown to be mainly localized to the processes. Pilocarpine in low concentrations (10-7 to 10-5M) tended to increase the iodopyracet accumulation in albino rabbits. In pigmented rabbits the increase toas statistically significant. The accumulation of iodide was not affected by low concentrations of pilocarpine. High pilocarpine concentrations (10-3 to 10-2M) inhibited the accumulation of both iodopyracet and iodide. The inhibition of iodopyracet accumulation was reversible and xoas not caused by an increased leakage from the preparation
