Abstract
Six normal subjects, monocularly entrained to a 14 hr light/10 hr dark cycle, showed a diurnal rhythm in the rod ERG of the entrained eye but not the unentrained eye. Thresholds in the entrained eye were significantly higher 1 1/2 hrs after light onset than at other times. This threshold increase occurred at a time when rod disc shedding has been observed histologically to be maximal in light-entrained animals.
