Abstract

Tonometer scale reading at constant pressure was measured in twenty enucleated human eyes. Scale reading was inversely related to corneal radius of curvature as predicted by a mathematical model. Formulas relating scale reading, tonometric pressure, plunger weight, and corneal radius of curvature are derived from the data. The current Pt versus R tables (1955) very nearly correspond to the present data for the 8.0 mm. radius of curvature cornea.
