Abstract

Purpose: : To measure oxygen saturation in the choroidal and retinal vasculature with a spectrophotometric oximeter.

Conclusions: : ODR can be measured in the choroidal vasculature in lightly pigmented individuals. ODR was lower in the choroid compared to the retinal arterioles and this suggests that choroidal oxygen saturation is higher. The oximeter is sensitive to changes in oxygen saturation during pure O2 breathing.

Keywords: choroid • imaging/image analysis: non-clinical • oxygen
