Quantify and define post-surgical pain after pterygium surgerywith conjunctival autografts.
17 patients have been included in the study. The analyzed parametershave been sex, age, pterigion TCL classification, primal characteristicsor relapse, usage of isolated tissue adhesive or extra fixationwith stitches, analogical scale of visual pain immediately aftersurgery, on the days 2 and 3 post-surgery, and the characteristicsof the pain and interval of it in the days 2 and 3 followingthe surgery.
In relation with the obtained data in the analogical scale forvisual pain, in the immediate results after surgery, the majorityof patients showed moderate pain. On day 2 after surgery thepain level was mild in majority of patients with characteristicsof sharp pain and lash pain predominantly. On day 3 after surgery, mild pain was also predominant, with characteristics of stingingand lash pain in majority of patients.
Using scales and pain characteristics we can quantify and definePost-surgical pain after pterigion surgery and in the followingdays.
