to assess intra- and inter-operator repeatability of irido-corneal angle measurements in open and narrow angles with a Fourier-domain anterior segment OCT (SS-1000, CASIA, Tomey Co®, Japan)
20 eyes with normal and 15 eyes with narrow angle width were selected from a database of pre-acquired AS-OCT images. Narrow and open angles were analyzed separately. Each image was analyzed twice by one operator on two separate sessions. A second operator examined the images independently. The following parameters were evaluated: manual angle width measure (MAW), trabecular-irido angle at 500µm (TIA500), angle opening distance at 500 and 750µm (AOD500 and AOD750), angle recess area at 500 and 750µm (ARA500 and ARA750), trabecular-iris space area (TISA500 and TISA750). MAW was obtained positioning three points: corneo-scleral junction, angular recess, and iris surface (on a line intersecting the first point normally). The other parameters were obtained with a semi-automated image process, in which the only manual step was marking the scleral spur. We evaluated intra- and inter-operator repeatability of measurements using Limits of Agreement (LoA), Coefficients of Variation (CV) and Intra-Class Correlation Coefficients (ICC), and Bland-Altman plots. To assess differences between repeated measures we used the Mann-Whitney test
results are displayed in Table 1. No significant differences were found between repeated measures for all tested parameters; ICC showed good correlation between paired data both in intra- and in inter-operator data series. Data showed a tendency of repeatability to be higher in open vs narrow angles
SS-1000 FD-AS-OCT showed a good intra- and inter-operator repeatability measuring angle parameters in narrow and open angles
