Abstract

Purpose: : To evaluate the stromal post-LASIK findings by using non- steroids agents after surgery.

Methods: : 24 eyes of 12 patients underwent LASIK surgery, post surgery treatment was done in all patients by using non-steroids agents (NEVANAC), Confocal microscopy were done at 1 week and 1 month after surgery.

Results: : Epithelium and stroma at the corneal flap were morphological normal in all observed corneas. Corneal flap interface were found in all cases by finding hiper-reflective particles. We found activated keratocytes at the retro-ablation zone in 26.4 ± 15.7 µ and 17.3 ± 12.2 µ stromal depth at 1 week and 1 month after LASIK respectively.

Keywords: microscopy: confocal/tunneling • cornea: epithelium • refractive surgery: LASIK
