Abstract

Purpose: : To evaluate the applicability of parameter identification algorithm in detecting the N75-P100-N135 complex of a fast transient VEP (ftVEP) in glaucomatous eyes.

Methods: : Ten percent contrast ftVEP of 60 normal eyes and 84 glaucomatous eyes (mean MD = -8.85dB ± 8.15dB) were used to evaluate the technique. The raw ftVEP data were evaluated using the parameter identification algorithm. The basics of the identification technique are previously published (Derr et al, Doc Ophthalmol. 2002, 104:37-55).

Results: : The parameters of the N75-P100-N135 complex of ftVEP were successfully identified. Table 1 compares the modified algorithm, the standard visual inspection means and 95% CI of the six ftVEP parameters.Figure 1 illustrates the parameter identification algorithm in the identification of the N75-P100-N135 parameters of a glaucomatous eye.
