Abstract
Purpose: :
A new instrument Tono-Pachymeter NT530P(Nidek, Gamagori, Japan) has been recently marketed.Taking an advantage of the principle of Scheimpflug camera, it provides noncontact measurement of central corneal thickness (CCT) and automatic calculation function of the compensated intraocular pressure ( IOP) based on CCT.The aim of this study was to assess the intraobserver reproducibility and variability of IOP and CCT NT530P measurements in normal eyes.
Methods: :
Thirteen eyes of seven healthy subjects with normal corneas were recruited for this study. All subjects underwent three sets of IOP and CCT measurements, each consisting of three IOP and CCT measurements, performed by the same examiner. Measurements were performed immediately after a blink. Coefficient of variation (CV) was calculated.
Results: :
CV was 0,038 for IOP and 0,025 for CCT.
Conclusions: :
The measurement of IOP and CCT by means of Tono-pachymeter NT530P is highly reproducible.
