Abstract
 
Purpose:
 

To present a unique case of herpes simplex vegetans in a 16year-old girl with primary immunodeficiency presenting witha fungating left lower eyelid.

 
Methods:
 

A case presentation of a fungating right lower eyelid mass ina 16 year old girl with t-cell immunodeficiency.

 
Results:
 

Histopathologic diagnosis of the excised lesion revealed positiveimmunohistochemistry for herpes simplex, confirming the diagnosisof herpes simplex vegetans.

 
Conclusions:
 

We believe this to be the first published case of herpes simplexvegetans occurring on the eyelids and include a brief discussionwith review of the literature.
