Abstract

Purpose: : To introduce a simple and effective repositioning method of prolapsed silicone tube after nasolacrimal duct intubation at the outpationt.

Methods: : We studied 34 cases of prolapsed silicone tubes. Each silicone tube was repositioned by inserting a probe, which was followed by the tube, into canaliculus until it reached nasolacrimal duct.

Results: : All the prolapsed silicone tubes were successfully repositioned without any significant complication.

Conclusions: : This is a simple and good method that can be performed as an outpatient procedure in the case of prolapsed silicone tube after intubation as a treatment of nasolacrimal duct obstruction.
