Abstract

Purpose:

To measure the ciliary body-sclera angle (CBSA) in UBM.

Methods:

Morphological structure element is used for image segmentation of angle structures. The inner corneal border and anterior border of the ciliary body are linearly fitted. The angle formed by the 2 intersecting lines is defined as CBSA. 3 observers measure the CBSA in 20 UBM images each 3 times. Intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) is used to measure intra- and inter-observer variability.

Results:

CBSA Mean (STD) = 56.27 (16.04) deg. ICC(agreement) = 0.9984. ICC(consistency) = 0.9986.

Conclusions:

This semi-automatic linear-regression based measurement of CBSA in UBM achieves excellent inter- and intra-observer agreement. This method can consistently evaluate the ciliary body morphology.
