Abstract

Purpose: : to measure corneal flan thickness alter LASIK in the first 24 hours with optical coherence tomography (OCT-Visante)

Methods: : this is a cross-sectional and observational study. We included the patients who underwent LASIK. The corneal flap thickness was measured in the firs 24 hours whit th OCT-Visante al the corneal vertex and in the peripheral area of 3mm an 6mm and we processed the images. Eyes were analyzed and grouped according to the microkeratomes used (Hansatome 160µm, Hansatome XP 120µm and 140µm, Moria M2 130 µm) and the expected flap thickness.

Results: : We included 70 eyes of 38 patients. The mean central flap thickness for the Moria M2 130µm group was 137.5µm, Hansatome XP 120µm group was 99.2µm, Hansatome XP 140µm group was 105.42µm, Hansatome 160µm group was 120.75µm.

Conclusions: : OCT-Visante measures corneal flap thickness was near expected measures whit microkeratomes used.
