Abstract

Purpose: : To Show The Benefit of Adjunctive Intravitreal Avastin with Laser Therapy for Posterior Aggressive Threshold Zone 1 Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP).

Methods: : 3 patients with Aggressive Zone 1 ROP were treated with intravitreal Avastin in addition to conventional laser treatment.

Results: : All six eyes had regression of plus disease and active ROP with combination therapy. None progressed to retinal detachment.

Conclusions: : Larger studies should be performed to assess the benefit and optimum timing and dosage of supplemental Intravitreal Avastin with Laser Therapy for Aggressive Posterior Zone 1 ROP.
