Abstract
Purpose: :
To describe the short term results of the WaveLight Allegretto Eye-Q 400 Hz Laser used for enhancement of prior laser vision corrective surgery from multiple laser platforms.
Methods: :
Retrospective chart review of all patients who underwent laser enhancement from September 2006 to present at a single-site academic center performed by one surgeon. We compared the spherical equivalent and uncorrected visual acuities at the pre-operative visit, post-operative month 3 and post-operative month 6. Exclusion criteria included follow-up data less than 3 months.
Results: :
A total of 46 eyes underwent laser correction enhancement using the Allegretto laser. Data for 36 eyes were available for review. Twenty-three eyes had follow-up data of at least 6 months duration. For eyes with at least 3 month follow-up data, 12 of 18 eyes (67%) achieved spherical equivalent within + 0.50 of the goal correction. At 6 months, 10 of 10 eyes with target plano refraction had an uncorrected visual acuity of 20/40 or better.
Conclusions: :
The short term results for laser enhancement of prior laser vision correction using the Allegretto Eye-Q 400 Hz laser are promising with excellent uncorrected visual acuity. Further studies with long-term follow up are needed.
