To report the effects (safety and tolerance) of Bevacizumab injection (Avastin, Genetec. Inc) in rabbits anterior chamber and report changes of endothelial cells.
Four eyes of four rabbits were injected with Bevacizumab via corneal at different concentrations (0.1 and 0.2 ml); all of them presented Bevacizumab in the anterior chamber immediately after the procedure. The eyes were evaluated with specular microscopy at the first and 7th day after injection.
All rabbits maintained corneal transparency in every control. Specular microscopy showed no change in the count of endothelial cell and in cell form.
Bevacizumab does not present a toxic effect over the corneal endothelial cells.
