Abstract

Abstract: : Purpose: To study the clinical effect of anti tuberculosis treatment in a group of uveitis patients with positive tuberculin skin test, who have no signs of active pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods: 8 patients with chronic uveitis and a positive skin test, without other clinical signs of tuberculosis were included for treatment with standard anti tuberculosis treatment consisting of INH, Rifampicin, Pyrazinamide and Ethambutol. Results: 7 patient received treatment, 4 of which showed complete remission, one incomplete remission and 2 showed no response. Conclusions: We beleive that in patients with chronic uveitis and a positive tuberculin skin test without other cause of uveitis antituberculosis therapy is warranted.
