Abstract

Abstract: : Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of fibrin tissue sealant in Muller's muscle–conjunctival resection ptosis procedure. Fibrin sealant has been successfully used as a posterior lamellar and conjunctival tissue adhesive. Methods: 17 patients underwent ptosis correction surgery using the above mentioned procedure. The wound was closed with fibrin tissue sealant. Results: 16/17 patients received correction of ptosis to within 1mm of desired height. No case of wound dehiscence was encountered. Conclusions: Fibrin sealant is a safe and effective method of wound closure in the Muller's muscle–conjunctival resection procedure.
