Abstract

Abstract: : Purpose:To describe fluorangiographic findings in patients with Wegener's granulomatosis (WG). Methods:We reviewed 21 patients with WG and performed retinal fluorangiography. Results: 21 patients with WG with a mean age of 44.2 years, 12 men and 11 women with generalized type in 12 and localized to the eye in 9. At the time of the study only one patient had active ocular inflammation. 66% of the patients showed asymptomatic retinal pigmentary epithelium (RPE) alterations on the fluorangiography as hyperfluorescent spots. Conclusions:We believe that the RPE alterations could be secondary to subclinical choroidal vasculitis or hemodynamic alterations related to renal disease in WG patients.
