Abstract

Abstract: : Purpose: To study the levels of IgG class antibodies to HSP 60 kDa of Staphylococcus pyogenes, Yersinia enterocolitica, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Escherichia coli in sera of patients with idiopathic uveitis, HLA-B27(+)-associated uveitis, pars planitis, and VKH. Methods: The HSP's 60 kDa's were cloned and purified for affinity column (Ni-agarose). The levels of IgG class antibodies in sera of patients with uveitis and subjects healthy were determined for ELISA. Result: The results showed that patients with HLA-B27-associated uveitis and patients with pars planitis presented higher levels of antibodies to HSP 60 kDa of Yersinia enterocolitica than healthy subjects (p=0.005 and p=0.01, respectively). The patients with idiopathic uveitis, and VKH did not present high levels of antibodies to HSP 60 kDa of Yersinia enterocolitica compared to healthy subjects (p>0.05). On the other hand, the patients and healthy subjects presented similar levels of antibodies to HSP’s 60 kDa of Staphylococcus pyogenes, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Escherichia coli (p>0.05). Conclusion: These results show that HSP 60 kDa of Yersinia enterocolitica could to be participated in HLA-B27(+)-associated uveitis and pars planitis patients.
