Abstract

Abstract: : Purpose:To study the function of XiuQuanTong(chinese herb medicine) in the treatment of Retinal Vein Occlusion(RVO) disease. Methods:120 patients with RVO were divided into two groups, group A(XiuQuanTong) and group B (urokinase ). Group A was treated by two XiuQuanTong pills t.i.d daily by oral for one month. And group B was treat by urokinase which was used 10000u mixed with 500cc D5W iv drip daily for 5 days in a course. After resting 5 days, then starting another course. Total treatment period last one month. Results:The visual acuity in the patients group A was remarkably improved than that of group B. The extravasated retinal hemorrage was evidently absorbed for 92.7% of group A and was for 66.7% of group B.There is signigicant statistical difference between two groups.(P<0.01). Conclusion: XiuQuanTong could alleviate retinal hemorrage, edema and it is an useful chinese herb medicine to treat RVO.
