Abstract: : Purpose: To obtain a contour map of diabetic macular edema with stereophotogrammetry. Methods: Ten eyes of 6 patients with diabetic macular edema were measured using stereophotogrammetry and simultaneous stereophotographs. Contour maps were generated at depth intervals of 25 microns. Each contour line was formulated at intervals of 5 degrees. The 50% contour volume was calculated as the top volume about the average height (mm³). Results: Below is a typical contour map of an eye with early macular edema.Range of 50% contour volume measurements for the 10 eyes was from 0.096 to 1.46 mm³ with a mean + standard deviation of 0.530 + 0.403 mm³. Conclusion: Stereophotogrammetry can produce a detailed contour map which can be used to evaluate diabetic macular edema. View OriginalDownload SlideView OriginalDownload Slide
