Abstract

Abstract: : Purpose:To determine the norms of the electroretinogram(ERG) at the "Retinitis Pigmentosa(RP) Camilo Cienfuegos Referal Center",according to international standarization. Methods:Forty healthy persons were hazard selected among the workers from the "RP Center" to wich were carried out ERG according the norms of the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision(ISCEV). The five basic responses established were carried out an amplitud and implicit times of their main components were measured. Results: The five basic responses were obtained with similar morfhology to those one obtained by other authors. In the rods response a "b" wave it was obtained between the 70.93 to 87.57 milliseconds with amplitud of 150.15 to 323.43 microvolts. A maximun response was obtained with unfolded "a" and "b" waves. The oscillatory potentials showed five components and the values of amplitud and implicit times of the response of cones and the flicker they belong together with the results of other investigators that followed same methodology. Conclusion:The five basic responses settled down by the ISCEV were obtained with amplitudes, implicit times, and standards morphology that allow us the diagnostic and electrophysiologic study of our patients and their comparison with the results of other laboratories.
