Abstract

Presentation Description : Chemotherapy has been used for intraocular and extraocular retinoblastoma with success for more than 50 years worldwide. As a result lives, eyes and vision have been saved and patients with metastatic retinoblastoma have obtained long term cures. Clinical and laboratory evidence provide extensive information about drug pharmacokinetics and this presentation will summarize the known information about intravenous, intrarterial, periocular and intravitreal administration of Melphalan, Carboplatin and Topotecan (the thre drugs used most commonly)

This is an abstract that was submitted for the 2016 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in Seattle, Wash., May 1-5, 2016.
