.To examine the postoperative stability of anterior chamber depth (ACD) among three types of implanted aspheric mono-focal single-piece intraocular lenses (IOL).
Subjects comprised 104 eyes of 64 patients implanted with SN60WF (Alcon), ZCB00V (AMO) or NS-60YG (NIDEK) at Kanazawa Medical University Hospital or Anamizu General Hospital in 2010-2015. Patients (74.4±7.66 years) were examined 1-week, 1-month and 3-months after surgery. ACDs were assessed using anterior eye segment analysis system (EAS-1000, NIDEK). Refractive values were measured by auto ref/keratometer (ARK-730A, NIDEK) and spherical equivalents were determined.
Mean variation in ACD between 1-week and 1-month by type of IOL was: SN60WF, 0.035±0.115mm; ZCB00V, 0.0142±0.138mm and NS-60YG,－0.077±0.196mm. The percentage of ACD variation at ≥±0.2mm, ≥±0.25mm and ≥±0.3mm by IOL was: SN60WF, 10.8%, 2.7%, and 0%; ZCB00V, 22.2%, 5.6%, and 2.8% and NS-60YG, 32.3%, 19.4%, and 19.4%. The percentage of ACD variation at ≥±0.3mm with NS-60YG, 19.4%, was significantly higher than that with SN60WF, 0%, (χ2 test with Holm, p<0.05). The percentage of ACD variation at ≥-0.1mm between 1-month and 3-month with NS-60YG was significantly higher than that of the other two IOLs (χ2 test with Holm, p<0.05). There was no significant difference in the percentage of ACD variation among the 3 types of IOLs at 3-months. There was no significant difference in spherical equivalent among the 3 types of IOL at 3-months.
Variation in ACD may differ by IOL in the early postoperative term even with IOL of the same type, single-piece. Variation of ACD in the early postoperative term was greater in eyes with NS-60YG compared those with SN60WF and ZCB00V.
