My term as Editor-in-Chief of
Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science ended this past December 2017. During my tenure, we were fortunate to have excellent participation by reviewers. I wanted to take the time to thank all reviewers who participated in the peer review process. We understand that this takes time away from your day job, but it is something that is critical to the success of the journal and for us to be sure that the best science appears in
IOVS. I particularly want to point out those reviewers who received the
IOVS Exceptional Reviewer category, which recognizes reviewers who do a thorough and exceptionally good job reviewing manuscripts and who return them to the Editorial Board Members quickly. These individuals received an e-mail from the Editor thanking them for their special contribution to
IOVS and to vision science. We value
all our reviewers and again want to thank you for an excellent year for
IOVS. Our median day-to-first decision finally dropped to 29 days, a goal we had set to provide authors with a decision time to first decision under 30 days. We accomplished this only with your help. It is with your participation in this peer review process that
IOVS has been one of the top vision science journals. Without your generous and expert contributions, we could not provide a journal like
IOVS to serve the broad vision research community. Thank you!
