Abstract
Presentation Description :
Intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs) are dysfunctional in many leading causes of blindness. We have shown that ipRGC mediated pupil light responses are effective early biomarkers of retinal disease, and in optic nerve disorders this dysfunction is present at pre-perimetric stages. This presentation will focus on ipRGC function in common blinding eye diseases and its implications for chronobiological behaviour in patients.
