Abstract
Presentation Description :
Bipolar cells connect the outer with the inner retina and represent the first stage in the visual system where information is distributed onto parallel channels. Recent advances hold the exciting promise that an in-depth understanding of the bipolar cells – as an entire neuron class – and their role in the first critical steps of vision is within reach. In my talk, I will present our current work on the bipolar cells in the mouse retina and the circuit mechanisms that give rise to their functional diversity.
