Compare the effectiveness and safety between spheric Ortho-K lens and toric Ortho-K lens for myopic children who has >1.50D corneal astigmatism.
It is a retrospective study. Total 42 children with more than 1.50D corneal with the rule astigmatism were categorized into two groups. 21 children fitted with toric Ortho-K lens, the other 21 children fitted with spheric Ortho-K lens. Respectively analyze visual acuity, lens fitting, health of anterior eye segment and axial length of baseline and follow up visit within one year.
1. No significant differences are founded between two groups in baseline including age（10.96±1.76;11.61±1.41）, equivalent refraction（-3.95±1.70；-3.74±1.12）, corneal astigmatism（1.76±0.20;1.83±0.35）and axial length（25.39±0.92；25.21±0.77）; 2. No significant difference in visual acuity between two groups shows in the follow up visit; 3. Over one year, there is no significant difference in the progression of axial length between the two groups（P=0.614）; 4. Lens fitting of toric Ortho-K lens is significantly better than spheric Ortho-K lens at the 6 month follow up （P=0.013）; 5. Incidence of corneal staining is less in toric Ortho-K lens group than the spheric Ortho-K lens group.
There is no significant difference in the effectiveness of myopic control between toric Ortho-K lens and spheric Ortho-K lens when they are used for myopic children with more than 1.50D corneal astigmatism. However, the toric Ortho-K lens has better lens fitting and corneal staining compared with spheric group.
