Abstract

Presentation Description : The Clinical and Rehabilitative Medicine Research Program (CRMRP) is focused on implementing strategies to reconstruct, rehabilitate, and provide definitive care for injured Service Members. This Sensory portfolio is focused on understanding the mechanisms of and developing treatment strategies for traumatic injuries resulting in visual dysfunction. The portfolio includes Department of Defense (DoD) applied research, pre-clinical and early clinical trials to advance the development of devices and therapeutics for vision restoration and rehabilitation following traumatic injury. This presentation will descript this research program, discuss current funding opportunities, and current Joint capability research gaps.

This is an abstract that was submitted for the 2018 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in Honolulu, Hawaii, April 29 - May 3, 2018.
