Purpose :
PURPOSE study and treatment for type I ROP .

Methods : METHODS During the period 2012-2016 the data on retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) was generated from the private hospital system.There were 395 neonates / 790 eye ,were reported for the ROP screening and management .Out of 395 neonates , 98 neonates required treatment .In this 89 were of type II ROP and 9 were of type I ROP . The analysis was primarily performed on type I cases.Thus the hospital based periodic prevalence of ROPI was 2.48%.

Results : RESULT This is the study of type I ROP which required laser and anti VEGF treatment for the disease .The study shows 22.2% had stage 2 and 77.7% had stage 3 and more disease eyes and there were 22.2% zone I disases and 77.7% zone II .
Threre were 89.9% plus diseased neonates were included in the study.
Over all mean gestation age of the neonates was 30.67 (SD=2.06) weeks.
Mean weight of neonate was 1.225 (SD=0.227) kg.
Mean age at the time of first laser treatment was 29.55 (SD: 4.87) days.
The mean time of Anti VEGF injection after first treatment was 12.88 (SD: 6.77)days.
Out of 18 eyes, ROP regression was observed in 10 eyes (55.5%), while 8 eyes (44.5%) required additional treatment but loss one eye the this study . Overall, out of 18 eyes, 17 (94.4%) eyes could be saved.Further, the mean gestational age of neonates required single laser was 31.4 (SD: 1.95) weeks, while it was 29.75 (SD: 2.06) weeks for neonates who required double laser.Mean birth weight of neonates requiring single laser was 1.336 (SD: 0.18) kg, while those requiring double laser was 1.087 (SD: 0.22) kg.Mean time required for injection for neonates requiring single laser was 16.6 (SD: 5.45) days, while it was 8.25 (SD: 5.56) days for those requiring double laser. Mean time duration to start the treatment for neonates with zone I involvement was 8 (SD: 2.82) days, while with zone II involvement was 14.28 (SD: 7.04) days. Mean time duration to start of laser for neonates with stage 2 involvement was 6.5 (SD: 6.36) days, while with stage 3 was 14.72 (SD: 6.07) days. Mean weight of babies with zone I and stage 3 was 1.27 (SD: 0.99)kg, for babies with zone II and stage 3 was 1.27 (SD:0.27)kg and for babies with zone II and stage 2 was 1.07 (SD: 0.18)Kg

Conclusions : CONCLUSION Lower gestational age with Zone II disease requires more numbers of Interventional Treatment. Zone I disease needs very early start of treatment.
