Abstract

Presentation Description : Modern corneal transplantation techniques provide excellent clinical outcomes post surgery. However, we are focused on generating new therapeutic modalities with higher effectiveness and less invasiveness. For example, we initiated the clinical research of a cell-based therapy for treating corneal endothelial decompensation. In addition, we are currently in the process of developing a pharmaceutical treatment. In this presentation, I will introduce our example, and provide a platform for debate about future therapy for treating Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy.

This is an abstract that was submitted for the 2018 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in Honolulu, Hawaii, April 29 - May 3, 2018.
