Abstract

Purpose : To evaluate outcomes of toric phakic implantable collamer lens (ICL) V4c for moderate to high myopic astigmatism in a three years follow-up in a Mexican population sample.

Methods : Retrospective study included 99 eyes of 53 patients who underwent toric ICL V4c. We assessed visual outcomes, refraction, intraocular pressure (IOP), vaulting and endothelial cell density (ECD).

Results : Mean preoperative UDVA was 1.5 (logMAR), CDVA was 0.18 (logMAR), mean spherical equivalent (SE) was -11.42 diopters (D). After 3-year follow-up, average UDVA was 0.18, SE was -0.74 D, these changes were statistically significant. CDVA, IOP and vaulting did not show significant differences. Paired T-test was used.

Conclusions : Toric ICL V4c implantation improved UDVA from 1.5 logMar to 0.20 logMar after central flow ICL implantation. Toric ICL V4c log term follow-up showed that patients with moderate to high myopic astigmatism that had been treated with this lens have experienced good results.
