Abstract

Presentation Description : We will talk about sorting of membrane protein during the normal process of OS renewal, as well as aberrant renewal process observed in the pathological retina. We will present the finding that peripherin/rds and prominin-1 are renewed differently from opsin in the outer segments of cone photoreceptor cells. We will also present our recent finding that mislocalized rhodopsin disrupts the plasma membrane homeostasis in non-OS compartments.

This abstract was presented at the 2019 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in Vancouver, Canada, April 28 - May 2, 2019.
