Abstract

Purpose : IFD-5, prescribed for the treatment of ED, has related to VI dysfunction and NAION since its release. Observational clinical study with the aim to evaluate OCT and Psychophysical changes in male population related to the use of IFDE-5 (tadalafila 20mg).

Methods : Cross-sectional, observational and quantitative study. The sample constituted for 30 men among 33 and 59 years old, with A 49.4 and SD 6.7.
The data collection occurred in two steps. The first moment the patients did not consume the drug with IFDE-5 and were evaluated during the morning. Was performed the ophthalmological exams -anamnesis, RC, GL, RP and OCT- and the psychophysical evaluation – FMD15 e LT D-15. Finished these exams, the patients had instructed to use tadalafila 10 p.m. The next morning repeated the OCT and VI tests.
The dates from the OCT and FM D-15 and LT D-15 tests had extracted and analyzed through Microsoft O.E 2007, MATLAB R2012b and Bioestat version 5.3 programs with of purpose real to accomplish statistic and descriptive study. The parameters of OCT selected are TMV, MF, mean thickness of the fovea, and macula temporal, superior, nasal, and inferior internal and external using the Wilcoxon test for paired samples.
Relative the tests FM D-15 and LT D-15, the following parameters had analyzed: CKI, C-index and S-index. To evaluate the normality of these results, used the Lilliefors test and followed by the Wilcoxon test for paired samples. The significance level of α was 0.05.

Results : The FM D-15 showed that there was improvement in color discrimination after the use of the medication for (p=0,02060) and C-índex (p=0,206) closest more of the values for each parameter than before medication.
The LT-D15 after the use of IFD-5, all parameters showed C-index and S-index closer to the ideal values of each parameter, but only the C-index presented statistical difference between the pre and post-use period of the medication ( p = 0.0466). OCT exibed increase of thickness in MF sectors (p = 0.0202) and Fovea (0.0178); and reduction of thickness in other sectors.

Conclusions : After the ingestion of tadalafil 20mg was observed a increase of thickness in MF sectors (p = 0.0202) and Fovea (0.0178); and reduction of thickness in other sectors. FM D-15 test showed that there was improvement in VI.
