Abstract

Presentation Description :
This talk will consider vision impairment in the context of age-related comorbidity. Dr. Whitson will elaborate on the bidirectional relationship between vision impairment and non-ophthalmologic comorbidities, providing specific examples and emphasizing the combined impact that multiple conditions can have on patient function. The talk will outline research priorities and care needs relevant to visually impaired seniors. The presentation will conclude with an overview of opportunities to integrate the fields of geriatrics and eye health to enhance both clinical and research agendas in the immediate future.
