Abstract

Presentation Description : General and child abuse pediatricians rely on the ophthalmologist's examination and assessment when evaluating infants and young children for potential child abuse. This presentation will provide an overview of the indications for ophthalmology consult in pediatric trauma cases and the importance of collaboration between the pediatrician and ophthalmologist in recognizing abuse and other medical conditions that both indicate and mimic abusive injury.

This abstract was presented at the 2019 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in Vancouver, Canada, April 28 - May 2, 2019.
