Abstract

Presentation Description : The presentation will describe our in vivo based phenotype-based discovery technologies to identify drugs that preserve or restore vision. The research is in pre-clinical models, with drug discovery in zebrafish with validation in human cell culture or rodent models. More specifically, we utilise zebrafish models of development and pathological ocular angiogenesis or inherited blindness.to screen small molecu;e drug libraries for anti-angiogenic and neuroprotectant drugs. Examples will be shown of subsequent medical chemistry to enhance the activity of hit compounds in zebarfish and mammalian models.

This abstract was presented at the 2019 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in Vancouver, Canada, April 28 - May 2, 2019.
