Abstract
Presentation Description :
Molecular technologies have been developing at a rapid pace in diagnostic pathology, and have become affordable in most places, allowing for implementation in health care systems. These new molecular technologies have: a) enabled a better understanding of the pathogenesis of diseases; b) allowed for improved diagnostic procedures in ophthalmic pathology, particular in infection and eye cancers; c) aided prediction to response to therapy; and d) refined prognostication. In this presentation, examples of how molecular pathology is being applied in ophthalmological samples will be provided.
