Abstract
Presentation Description :
Investigations from a number of labs indicate that there are greater than thirty distinct subpopulations of mammalian retinal ganglion cells (RGCs). Studies also suggest that not only do these subpopulations different in the type of visual information that they convey, they also differ in their susceptibility to injury and in their regenerative capacity. The development of single cell transcriptomic technologies has made possible the molecular analysis of the RGC subpopulations, including human stem cell-derived RGCs, at the single cell level. This presentation will summarize recent advances and developments in tis area
