Clinical information of the patient was collected and comprised age, sex, DM duration, hemoglobin A1c, comorbid hypertension, hypertension duration, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index, and comorbid cardio- or cerebrovascular disease (CVD). Serum creatinine level (Cr), eGFR, urine albumin–creatinine ratio (UACR), and urine protein–creatinine ratio (UPCR) were chosen as parameters for renal function. Additionally, serum levels of hemoglobin, albumin, total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, calcium, and phosphate were recorded. All data were obtained within one month from the date of UWFA examination.
