Abstract

Presentation Description : Previous work by our laboratory have suggested overactivation of autophagy as a potential cellular mechanism leading to optic nerve degeneration in response to chronic elevation in IOP. To gain more insight into the role of autophagy in glaucoma, we have investigated here IOP elevation and neurodegeneration in the autophagy-deficient Atg4b-/-, DBA/2J-Atg4b-/- mice and in the TGFβ2 ocular hypertensive model.

This abstract was presented at the 2023 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in New Orleans, LA, April 23-27, 2023.
