Abstract

Presentation Description : This presentation will discuss recent findings on the use of insulin as a pro-regenerative strategy for injured retinal ganglion cells in the context of glaucomatous damage. The signaling mechanisms of insulin-mediated neuro-regeneration as well as its pro-survival role and enhancement of retinal ganglion cell function will be highlighted. Studies in mice and non-human primates will be presented.
