Abstract
Purpose :
We aim to compare the agreement between biometric parameters and prediction error of the IOL calculation between two optical biometers in patients with previous refractive surgery.
Methods :
We conducted a retrospective cohort including all patients undergoing cataract surgery between 2010-2022 with a history of LASIK procedure. The IOL power was calculated with two optical biometers (Galilei G6 and IOLMaster 700) before the cataract surgery. The biometric parameters including axial length, K1, K2, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, white-to-white, central corneal thickness were compared to evaluate the agreement between instruments. The Barret-True-K formula was used to determine the IOL power.
Results :
A total of 33 eyes were analyzed. Twenty-seven patients (81.8%) were female, 17 (51.5%) eyes had previous myopic LASIK and 16 (48.5%) were hypermetropic. There were no statistically significant differences between the biometric parameters obtained with both biometers (P>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the median and mean prediction error (P>0.05).
Conclusions :
In patients with previous history of LASIK refractive surgery both instruments (IOLMaster 700 and Galilei G6) obtained comparable results in the biometric parameters, as well as in the mean and median prediction error.
